“This evening, I sat by an open window
and read till the light was gone and the book
was no more than a part of the darkness.
I could easily have switched on a lamp,
but I wanted to ride this day down into night,
to sit alone and smooth the unreadable page
with the pale gray ghost of my hand.”—
“A Man needs to feel the rhythms of the earth; he needs to have in hand something real — The tiller of a boat, a set of reins, the roughness of rope, or simply a shovel. Can a man live all his days to keep his fingernails clean and trim? Is that what a boy dreams of?”—John Elderedge (via theohpioneer)
Do you do any bird hunting over there? I'm in Alabama, USA
Hey mate, I grew up in South Africa and hunted guinea fowl and francolins with dad since I was very young, unfortunately moving to Australia we had to get rid of all our firearms so we didn’t own any guns for quite a while since then. This year i decided to do my license etc and now have a rifle and shotgun again so the upcoming duck season will be my first in Australia! How about you, how’s the hunting your way?
